History

When he was twelve years old, he started studying Classical Guitar at the music academy Conservatório Regional Maria Campina, where he studied four years with José Alegre and Eudoro Grade. Eager to learn different approaches to the guitar, he started exploring by himself other styles, picking up influences from Free Jazz, Folk and Experimental Music. [1].

While studying Sociology at Universidade do Algarve he kept developing parallel activities related with music: being in bands and promoting events. Amidst 2001 he founded the Black Metal/Death Metal band Necrokult of Kronos with Pedro Madeira and Bruno Duarte, The band recorded a demo tape in 2003, disbanding and returning in 2005 to record the album Necrokult of Kronos, that was only released in 2016.

In 2005 he started using aliases to channel his diverse music output. The first one was Kobra 178, where he explored IDM and Electronica, releasing a few singles on Myspace now lost due to an external hard drive disk failure, causing him to lose all the material to be released. One track was included on a film by A.C. Pifaro called We Are The Animal. In 2006 he started the folk Singer/Songwriter alias Mandrax Icon, recording the demo tape Epiphany in Patmos and in 2012 the full-length album Mary Climbed The Ladder For The Sun, released digitally and on vinyl by Nostril Records. In 2013 a new alias was born: Locust of The Dead Earth and the full length Mithridate was released, exploring drone music and Doom Metal. In the same year he was invited by André Trindade and Filipa Cordeiro to write and record a score for the independent film Verão Eterno, resulting in his first full length score. [2].

In 2016 it was announced in his official Facebook page that the next record will come out under his own name. [3]
