She started composing her own music when she was 9 years old. Her first composition was titled "Two Little Black Birds" based on a poem she learnt in school. Evers also played the flute during her high school days. She has a younger sister who is also a pianist and an older brother who plays the violin.

In addition to playing the piano Lynn has a background in orchestration and arranging. She has arranged numerous chamber works with a lot of musicians in Malaysia. Evers created an ensemble of eight, combining Western and Eastern musical instruments - piano, cello, double bass, Er Hu, Gu Zheng, Chinese bamboo flute and percussion. The ensemble performed the music orchestrated and arranged by her. She has also arranged music for a trio, quartet and a 35-piece chamber orchestra for well known Malaysian singers. Evers has been teaching piano for 25 years during the course of which she has recorded 2 full length studio albums.
