Luke Adam Patel (born 6 October 1990) is an English cricketer. Patel is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire and was educated at Outwood Grange Academy until the age of 18 when he then attended Durham University.

From the age of 12-18, Patel played with the Yorkshire age group and Academy sides. Whilst studying for his degree in Sports at Durham University, in his first year, Patel made his first-class debut for Durham MCCU against Nottinghamshire at The Racecourse in 2010. He made 6 further first-class appearances for the team from 2011-2013, playing against Warwickshire and Yorkshire. In his seven first-class matches, he scored 167 runs at an average of 13.91, with a high score of 32. With the ball, he took three wickets which came at an overall cost of 271 runs.

Genelogical Information

He is the Grandson of Wakefield Trinity rugby league football club legend Keith Holliday and nephew of former Wakefield Trinity player Barry Holliday.
