In Thoughtrave: An Interdimensional Conversation with Lady Gaga, Robert Craig Baum writes "Luke Chrisinger is the most important and life-changing artist of his generation...offered his catalog to the world, thousands of songs and other files. Other than the late Aaron Swartz, I can’t think of a more vocal and important advocate of open media culture and corporate-free music."

In addition to his solo recording, he was the frontman for the indie-rock band Giant Travel Avant Garde. Chrisinger is also a part of the Windsor, VT music collective What Doth Life, which has released several of his albums, as well as albums by The Pilgrims, Derek and The Demons, and Giant Travel Avant Garde. Collections of his work have been released by Amdiscs, Baby Teeth Tapes, and Antiquated Technology.
