Ludwigslust-Parchim II – Nordwestmecklenburg II – Landkreis Rostock I is one of the 299 single member constituencies used for the German parliament, the Bundestag. One of six districts covering the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the constituency elects one representative under the mixed member proportional representation (MMP) system. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 13.

Contents

The constituency was created for the 2013 election, when the number of constituencies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern was reduced by one. The first election was won by Karin Strenz of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). She had been elected in 2009 for one of the constituency's predecessors, Wismar – Nordwestmecklenburg – Parchim.

Boundaries

  • From Ludwigslust-Parchim county: the city of Parchim and the collective municipalities of Crivitz, Eldenburg Lübz, Goldberg-Mildenitz, Parchimer Umland, Plau am See and Sternberger Seenlandschaft.
  • From the Nordwestmecklenburg county : the cities of Grevesmühlen and Wismar; Poel Island; the collective municipalities of Dorf Mecklenburg-Bad Kleinen, Grevesmühlen-Land, Klützer Winkel, Neuburg and Neukloster-Warin.
  • From Rostock county: the cities of Bad Doberan, Kröpelin, Kühlungsborn and Neubukow; the collective municipalities of Satow, Bad Doberan-Land and Neubukow-Salzhaff.
