Luc-la-Primaube is a commune in the Aveyron department in southern France, in Occitanie. It is located at ten kilometres south of Rodez. Its inhabitants are called Lucois or Primaubois. Indeed, the commune includes two towns: Luc and La Primaube, 3 km (1.9 mi) apart.

Commune name

Luc-la-Primaube was called Luc until September 12, 2005. The new name was made official by the decree n° 2005-1155 of the bearing September 12, 2005 name change of communes (NOR: INTA0500236D) published in the Official journal n° 215 of September 15, 2005 page 14945.

Geography

Luc is a small town where one finds the town hall of the Luc-the-Primaube commune.

La Primaube is a commercial small town built on flat ground (without river and hill).

One finds there a church with a bell-tower recently built, a commercial place (the place of Star) with his water jets, recently arranged them too. La Primaube has many social, sporting equipment and of leisures: the nursery school and elementary private Jean Saint, the nursery school and elementary public Jean Boudou, a football stadium and a stage of Rugby, a social center. The majority of the houses recent and are gathered in allotments. There remain however some rare houses centenaries (one of maintained best gives on the round not principal of the city). Beside the allotments, one falls directly on the green fields, thickets or ponds. Many people living in these recent allotments work in Rodez, located at 10 minutes in the car.

The road carrying out of Rodez with La Primaube is next to by a large surface, dealers, and boroughs caught up with by the urbanization (Boissonnade, Espessergues…)

History

The history of the commune of Luc-la-Primaube is related to the old parish of Capelle Saint-Martin which was formerly under the domination of the abbey of Bonnecombe. Formerly, the relic of Saint-Martin made come good number of anybody in order to cure the disease known as: worms. Today the relic is located at the old people's home Sainte-Anne of the commune.

Sights

Another building the church of La Capelle Saint-Martin, today small hamlet but which was the cradle of the commune.

Personalities

Bonnaventure Lunet de la Maléne (1813–1892) was mayor of Rodez (05/1871-11/1874), general adviser of Campagnac (1858–1871). His son, Edmond Lunet de la Maléne (1841–1910), lawyer was mayor of Luc (1890–1910). He was president of the Central Company of Agriculture of Aveyron.
