Lubanglong is a village located in the Khoupum Valley of Tamenglong district, Manipur, India. It consists of a total of 145 households.

Etymology

The word "Lubanglong" originally referred to the pine tree. The name Lubanglong is thus commonly believed to have derived from a pine tree which grows on the hilltop of the village.

Climate

The climate of Lubanglong is largely influenced by the topography of the hilly region. Lying 790 meters above sea level, this western corner of Manipur enjoys a generally amiable climate, though the winters can be chilly. The maximum temperature in the summer months is around 32 °C (90 °F). In winter the temperature often falls below 0 °C (32 °F), bringing frost.

The Lubanglong village has population of 931 of which 479 are males while 452 are females as per 2011 census. Festivals

Christmas is one of the most important Festival in Lubanglong. In this season people living in different places coming together for Celebrating the Birth of Christ. Starting from the first week of December people start preparing for the greatest festival. In the same season there is one more festival celebrate by the minor community of Lubanglong call Gann Ngai by TRC people.

By Bus other source of transport

One can take straight high-class Passenger Bolero or small vehicles like Tata sumo or other source of transport from Bishnupur. The same is also available from Imphal too. Transport service has improved considerably in recent time, reducing the distance of 85 km to just 2 and half hours. Interestingly, as and when the ongoing road construction is completed, natives will have much better commuting facilities enabling commuters to reach their destination at a shorter time.; (dream waiting to become reality).
