Lu clan of Fanyang (范陽盧氏) is a Chinese noble clan politically active since the late eastern Han dynasty until the beginning of Song dynasty. Lu clan is descended from the state of Qi. The clan's name is originally the name of a fief which the clan holds. After Duke Tai of Tian Qi dethroned the last duke of Jiang Qi, the kin of Qi's duke such as the Lu clan lost their hereditary property and thence became a clan in diaspora. Later, the clan settled down in Fanyang commandery. The first notable figure of this clan is Lu Zhi, an acknowledged Confucian scholar who was also the mentor of Liu Bei. Lu Zhi later participated the repression of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, the battle bestowed much fame on Lu Zhi and marked the rise of the Lu clan. During the northern Wei dynasty, 3 male members of the clan established their marriage with the princesses of northern Wei. The clan also ranked one of the four influential clans of Northern China. However, some historical records show that members of Lu clan's deeds were disregarding the law and contemporaries had negative opinions on them. Lu clan's fame and influence faded while the Song dynasty rises. It eventually disappeared around the end of 10th century, never to be recorded again. In total there were 10 top chancellors from this clan from Tang dynasty till early Song dynasty.
