Route description

From the south, LA 3262 began at a dead end on the north side of LA 3139 (Earhart Expressway) in Metairie. It proceeded north along Labarre Road and intersected LA 3046 Spur (Lausat Street) and U.S. 61 (Airline Drive). Its northern terminus was at LA 611-9 (Metairie Road).

LA 3262 was an undivided, two-lane highway for its entire length.

History

LA 3261 was formerly part of LA 611-4 which originally included all of Labarre Road/North Labarre Road between LA 611-1 (River Road) and LA 611-9 (Metairie Road). Labarre Road was made discontinuous in June 1957 when the railroad crossing was closed following completion of the parallel Causeway Boulevard (LA 3046) overpass. The extension of the Earhart Expressway from Deckbar Ave. to Cleary Ave. in 1984 created a second barrier. In the 1990s, the section of Labarre Road south of the expressway was retained as LA 611-4 while the section north of the expressway was designated as LA 3262. Both routes were deleted in 2010 as Labarre Road/North Labarre Road became a local road.

LA 3262 was known as State Route 1331 in the pre-1955 Louisiana highway system.

Major intersections

The entire highway was in Metairie, Jefferson Parish.
