Route description

LA 110 begins at the western terminus in Merryville, travels south through the middle of downtown, also called main Street, making an east jag and becoming part of Obryan Street a short distance before turning south again. After passing the Merryville High School, and intersecting with an LA-110 west loop. LA 110 turns sharply east becoming the AC Schiro Memorial Highway. Continuing east LA 110 intersects and merges with LA 27 south in Singer, for a few feet before splitting east again, pass the Singer High School and Longville Lake and ending in Longville at its eastern terminus.

History

Merryville is the site of an old log cabin known as the Burks House listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town has historic roots back to the Atakapa Indians and early settlers even before the area was part of the Neutral Strip (Louisiana). LA 110 was a trail and later a road leading to Singer and Longville. Singer was in contention to be the Beauregard Parish seat before losing out to DeRidder, and was a major player in the logging era of the 1920s and 30s. Longville, at the height of the logging boom, was the site of one of the largest sawmills in Louisiana founded by Robert A. Long.

Major junctions

The entire highway is in Beauregard Parish.
