Louis Mexandeau (born 6 July 1931) is a French politician. He served as Minister of the Postal Services from 1981 to 1986 under François Mitterrand, and as Secretary for Veteran Affairs from 1991 to 1993.

Biography

Louis Mexandeau was born on July 6, 1931 in Wanquetin, France. He received the agrégation, and started his career as a teacher. He was a Socialist member of the National Assembly of France from 1973 to 1981, 1986 to 1991, and 1993 to 2002. He was also Minister of the Postal Services from 1981 to 1986, and Secretary of State for Veteran Affairs from 1991 to 1993. He ran for Mayor of Caen five times and lost.
