Lorry Girl is a 2012 Malayalam short film written and directed by Sandeep Pampally and produced by Pampally Productions. This short film is one has a social message for modern society. It has been screened worldwide on 1 December 2012, World AIDS Day, at 14 centers in Kerala, and in all main cities in India and in many countries around the world.

Plot
Lorry Girl tells the story of a prostitute Lakshmi, who sells her body to lorry drivers, out of helplessness rather than choice. She is a compassionate woman, and she is in love with Kannan, a lorry driver. She is very protective of her only daughter Kani. The plot revolves around the relations of Kannan-lakshmi-kani.
Lorry Girl was created specifically to instill awareness of the need to eradicate AIDS and stresses the need of using condoms.
Characterisation
The leading characters of Lorry Girl are Lachu (Lakshmi), Kannan and Kani. The main character Lakshmi is played by Rani Sharan, a journalist and the wife of actor Sharan and daughter of late veteran famous actor Manjery Chandran.
Kannan is portrayed as a negative character throughout the story. Yet, through him, we get glimpses of a lady’s affection towards her daughter. This role is done by Sharan, a well experienced actor from 1990, who has already won several awards for his performances.
Kani is the innocent daughter of Lachu. Selvam loves her and she opens her mind only to him. This grows to be a sweet tie between them which illustrates the warmth of relations in Kerala culture in India. This role is done by Meghna, an upcoming artist. Aadarsh is another new face appears as Selvam, who is a model too.
Location
The main location of the shoot is Kava, Palakkad, Kerala, India. Most of the scenes of this short film are from Kava and the Para. Lorry Girl was shot during the summer because the subject when the area is less green than at other seasons.
