She ran in the Dublin Fingal constituency along with Darragh O'Brien at the Irish 2016 general election. She polled 3,359 first preferences and was eliminated on the ninth counth.[1].

She lives in Portmarnock with her husband John Lee and her daughter.[2] Her husband is the Political Editor of the Mail on Sunday newspaper.[3]

She is a self-employed solicitor and is a fluent Irish speaker.[4]
On her election to the Seanad she was chosen as the Fianna Fáil Seanad spokesperson for Justice and Equality and Children and Youth Affairs.
