Longbing Cao (born in 1969) is a Professor in Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney Australia. He is known for his work in data science, behavior analytics, complex intelligent systems, and their enterprise applications.

Biography
Cao received one PhD in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from Chinese Academy of Science and another PhD in Computing Science at the University of Technology Sydney. He had bachelor in electric automation, and a master's degree in data communication systems.
Cao took a Chief Technology Officer role managing business intelligence system design and implementation in China before he moved to Australia to start his academic life.
He established and directed the first Australian research group: Advanced Analytics Institute at UTS, where he built the analytics degree: Master of Analytics and PhD Thesis: Analytics in 2011. He is the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Data Science and Analytics. He founded the IEEE International Conference on Data Science and Advanced Analytics, and established and chairs
Cao's research interests include data science (data analytics, data mining, machine learning, information systems), artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, and conducted a series of enterprise applications of advanced analytics for major government and business organizations and domains, including social security, taxation, immigration, capital markets, insurance, banking, telecommunication, and education.
