Logz.io is Tel Aviv, Israel-based company which provides log management and log analysis services using machine-generated data. The company was founded in 2014 by Check Point alumnus Tomer Levy and Asaf Yigal and has received funding from investors including Giza Venture Capital, former PayPal Media Network COO David Chang, and 83North (formerly the Israeli Greylock IL branch of Greylock Partners). After seed funding and a Series A in late 2015, Logz.io's total venture backing to date is $7.9 million.

Technology

Logz.io provides a cloud-based log analytics service with additional features such as predictive fault detection, alerts, multi-user access and role definitions. The platform uses machine-learning algorithms to find critical log events before they impact operations, providing users with information about their systems and applications.

Logz.io has repositories at GitHub and Docker.

Amazon Web Services has named Logz.io as an "Advanced Technology Partner". The company has also received the advanced SOC 2 compliance certification. Logz.io is also a Docker Logging Technology Partner. The company also has an add-on at Heroku.

Awards, Recognition, and Press

Logz.io was named #39 in the Calcalist's list of The Top 50 Promising Startups In Israel in 2016. The company was included in venture capital data analysis company CB Insights' list of 12 Israeli Enterprise Startups to Watch and then in its Periodic Table of Israeli Tech, which "lists funded companies in select industry categories that are particularly prominent in Israel." Logz.io was named a finalist in the Upcoming Cloud Service Provider Award category in the Data Center And Cloud 2016 Awards.

In May 2016, the company released a real-time U.S. 2016 presidential election dashboard that used Big Data analysis to show what Twitter users are saying about the candidates and issues as news unfolded. The dashboard was covered in TechRepublic and InformationWeek.

In addition, Inc. magazine interviewed Asaf Yigal on what his military experience taught him about running a startup. Search Engine Land included Logz.io in a roundup of server log analysis best practices in technical SEO. BestTechie profiled the company's predictive log analysis platform. History

Before Logz.io, Tomer Levy was cofounder and CTO of Intigua, which developed Docker-like containers for enterprise companies. Before Intigua, he managed the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) Software Blade at Check Point for six years. Asaf Yigal was a cofounder of Currensee, a social-trading platform that was acquired by OANDA in 2014. Before Currensee, he served in executive roles at Akorri and at Onaro. Both were acquired by NetApp.

After its founding, Logz.io received $1.2 million in seed funding in February 2015. The seed funds came from Giza Venture Capital and angel investors including former PayPal Media Network COO David Chang.

Logz.io officially launched in October 2015 with an additional $6.7 million in Series A funding, for a total of $7.9 million in funds. The Series A funds came from companies including 83North (formerly the Israeli Greylock IL branch of Greylock Partners).

In November 2015, the company released ELK Apps, which Logz.io describes as "the largest collection of free machine-generated and user-created ELK applications in the world."

The company has sponsored the Amazon Web Services event AWS re:Invent as well as DevOpsDays Silicon Valley, DevOps Summit, Dockercon, and DevOpsDays Boston. Tomer Levy contributes to InfoWorld and DevOps.com.
