Lockhart Township was organized in 1882, and named for a landowner.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.9 km²), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 63 people, 27 households, and 18 families residing in the township. The population density was 1.7 people per square mile (0.7/km²). There were 39 housing units at an average density of 1.1/sq mi (0.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White.
There were 27 households out of which 25.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.3% were married couples living together, 3.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 33.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
