On May 9, 2015, NBC green lit the series, which has received an order for eight one-hour episodes, featuring "the world's most talented and extraordinary kids". In a press release from NBC, "Harvey will showcase young musicians, singers, dancers and every form of wunderkind in the country, and go toe to toe with them in conversations and interviews, with hilarious results.".....
Critical reception
On Metacritic, the series received a 7.5 out of 10 with generally "Favorable reviews."
Ratings
The series premiered as a "preview" after The Voice with more than 12 million viewers, it then premiered in its regular Sunday at 8:00 PM timeslot on March 13, 2016 and it proved to be a hit for NBC with more than 15 million viewers.
Spin-off
On September 28, 2016, NBC ordered a spin off to the series titled Little Big Shots: Forever Young centering on elderly contestants showcasing their talent.
