  • Defunct Otago clubs Appleby. Invercargill's first official rugby league club began in 1976 and changed its name to the Appleby Leopards the following year. In 1978 it was shorted to the Leopards Rugby League Club. Athletic 1924-30, 1953-71. Caledonian 1953-56 before merging with Celtic in 1957 to become known as Caledonian-Celtic for two seasons. Caversham Bulldogs 1994-96. Restarted in 2004 as the Aotearoa Bulldogs before dropping the first name for the 2005 season. Folded in 2007. Celtic 1953-78 Celtic-North 1987-89 Christian Brothers 1924-34 City 1924-31, Reformed in 1956 as the new name from the Western Suburbs Club. Folded in 1978. Harbour. 2004-07, 2010–11 Kaitangita Began in 1924 and folded in 1926. Reformed the following year before folding again in 1929. Kawerau Bears 1987-88 Mosgiel Cobras 1985-90. Became known as the Central-Mosgiel Cobras in 1991 for a season when it amalgamated with a Cromwell-based side. Folded after that season before making a season comeback in 2002. North Otago Knights This Oamaru-based club began in 1993 before folding at the end of the 1994 season. It was reformed in 1997, but did not return the following year Pacific. This was Otago's first official club, beginning in 1924 and folding in 1930. Samoana. Formed in 1964, but banned by the ORFL due to rough play at the end of the 1967 season. Southern 1982-84 South Coast Dolphins 1986-94 South Otago Zephyrs later Rams. This Balclutha based club began in 1993 and folded in 1995 St Clair Dragons formed in 1996, absent in 1997, but returned in 1998-99 before folding in 2000 St Kilda Sharks 1985-2000. It was the top Otago club in 1992-93 Western Suburbs. Formed in 1953 before changing its name to City in 1956.
