List of programs broadcast by Zee Bangla

Zee Bangla is a Bengali language general entertainment channel that began broadcasting in 1999. Its original programming has included television serials, reality shows and other game shows which depict different aspects of Bengali life.It is severely criticized by liberal minded people for airing misogynist, sexist and colorist content which demean women and stereotypes their role in Bengali society. Shows like Raadha, Ei Chheleta Bhelbheleta portray multiple women contesting for the affection of a single male, making the shows extremely absurd. In latter of these show, one of the male character commits polygamy, his first wife being an underage teen girl who gives her secondary examination(10th grade), after marrying him. His character is shown in a positive light which leads to the normalization of such behavior. Regular viewers of the channel will note that both the male and female lead of the shows have a positive correlation with lighter skin color. Any antisocial or antagonistic characters are more likely to be played by people with a darker skin tone.
