Female and monogamous couples
This section lists females who gave birth to at least 20 children. Numbers in bold and italics are likely to be inexact, some of them having been recorded before the 19th century. Due to females bearing the pregnancy and usually being monogamous, their records are often shared with or exceeded by their partners.
Male
This section lists men who have parented at least 25 children, usually with many different women. Men who have parented large numbers of children through medical sperm donation are difficult to record. Numbers in italics are inexact, particularly those of rulers of antiquity.
