The following is a list of best selling Bollywood albums in India which makes up the majority of the Indian music market.

  • The songs in Aashiqui were recorded to make an album in 1989, but when Mahesh Bhatt heard the songs, he decided to make a film and he asked Gulshan Kumar for the same.
  • The music for Jurm was composed by Rajesh Roshan and the lyrics were written by Indeevar An outstanding song from the score is the romantic duet Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye sung by Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam. It was a cover of 500 Miles.
  • The best-selling non-soundtrack album in India is Daler Mehndi's Bolo Ta Ra Ra (1995), which sold 20 million copies overall.
