There were 21 titles released on the same day as the launch of Wii on November 19, 2006. Currently, the last game released for the Wii is The Voice in November 2016. Nintendo may also have re-prints for various retail Wii games under the Nintendo Selects label at later dates, but they do not count as new releases. Wii games re-released digitally on the Wii U should be added to the list of Wii games on Wii U eShop.

The original Wii is backward compatible with games made for its predecessor, the GameCube, see List of GameCube games. This list does not include games released on Virtual Console or WiiWare, instead see Lists of Virtual Console games or List of WiiWare games respectively.

The list is sorted by exclusive, game titles, their developer(s), publisher(s), released for and release date by Japanese, European, Australian, and American respectively. The game title without a region abbreviation in superior letters is a North American title, it may be shared in another region if there is no secondary title with matching region in superior letters.

The "Japan" column involve NTSC-J software, it will be compatible with Hong Kong, Taiwan and other selected Asian consoles, besides South Korea. This kind of software will not be compatible with South Korean Wii consoles. "Europe" and "Australasia" are both under PAL/SECAM. "North America" is under NTSC territories, including Central and South Americas, and sometimes, in the case of various Nintendo-published titles, in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Downloadable from Wii U eShop

On January 14, 2015, it was announced that during a Nintendo Direct that Wii software titles would be coming to the Wii U eShop. The games play no differently than their original versions and don't require any discs to play. Games that were originally compatible with the Wii's Classic Controller can be played with the GamePad controls.
