The UK Dance Chart is a chart that ranks the biggest-selling singles which are released in the United Kingdom. The chart is compiled by the Official Chart Company and is based on both physical and digital sales of tracks, classified as 'electronic dance'.

The first number-one dance single of the year was awarded to pop singer Rihanna with the Calvin Harris-produced "We Found Love". The song, which topped the UK Singles Chart for six non-consecutive weeks during 2011, had already spent eleven consecutive weeks atop the chart from 9 October to 18 December in 2011, having been interrupted by DJ Avicii's "Levels" on 25 December. 22 January saw David Guetta claim the first new number-one single of 2012, with "Titanium", which featured Australian singer Sia. On 5 February, "Titanium" simultaneously topped the UK Singles Chart, with sales of 85,95 copies. The track spent four consecutive weeks at the summit, with DJ Fresh and the Rita Ora-assisted "Hot Right Now" dethroning it on 25 February – with a current year high of 127,988 copies.
