List of Golden Gate Transit routes

Golden Gate Transit (GGT) operates 26 bus routes, including 5 Regional routes and 21 Commute routes. Schedules are updated quarterly to improve schedule reliability and efficiency. Route information listed below is current as of 12 June 2016.

Regional service

Golden Gate Transit operates 5 Regional bus routes. Prior to June 2016, these were known as Basic routes. Routes 30, 40, 70, and 101 provide daily service (including holidays) between San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, and Contra Costa Counties. They use 40-ft buses, except some Route 101 trips on weekends, when 45-ft commuter buses are provided on that route. Route 40X operates during weekday peak periods only.

Serving San Francisco

Note: Italicized locations are served on select trips only.

Serving the East Bay

These services use the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

Commute service

GGT operates 21 Commute bus routes. All except Routes 4 and 27 operate during weekday peak periods only; Routes 4 and 27 operate all day on weekdays. These routes do not operate on weekends or holidays.

Serving the San Francisco Financial District

Note: Italicized locations are served on select trips only.

Serving Larkspur Ferry Terminal

The Larkspur Ferry Shuttle is timed to connect with select ferry crossings.

Marin Transit service

GGT operates service within Marin County on 7 routes under contract with Marin Transit. See Marin Transit for information on Routes 17, 23, 23X, 29, 35, 36, and 71X.

Discontinued service

GGT has operated several different bus routes over the years that have been discontinued or significantly altered.
