The Lirean war, also known as the The Second Great War of Encantadia is a fictional war within the Encantadia universe, It was fought 2,000 years ago between 150,000 Encantadian troops of allied kingdoms of Lireo,Adamya,Sapiro and between 200,000~300,000 Hathorian troops and their allies, It was the second largest war of Encantadia after the Great Encantadian War against Etheria, It resulted in a decisive victory for the allied kingdoms of Lireo,Adamya and Sapiro.

Cause
Hathoria is an ambitious kingdom bent on dominating the rest of Encantadia,They yearn to take all the four elemental gems for themselves, finding themselves strong enough they attacked Adamya first, taking the first gem then they set out to attack both Sapiro and Lireo, they inlisted the help of savage orc like tribes called Olarkas to help them conquer the rest of the realm and take the remaining gems for themselves.
Battles
The Hathorian strategic offensive, was planned to conduct two pincer invasions, one to the north against the kingdom of Sapiro by two Armies of some 200,000 troops, simultaneously severing the supply routes to Lireo, and another to the south against Lireo ,south of the Lirean Sapiro trade route, by the three Hathorian Armies of 250,000 troops, while another Army of 50,000 advanced directly towards the Lirean capital from the west.
Initially, the allied forces of Sapiro and Lireo conducted a strategic defense of the trade route by constructing three defensive walls, deploying newly raised reserve armies, and bringing fresh troops from Lireo and its Far Eastern territories. Subsequently, as the Hathorian invasions were halted, a joint Sapirian Lireo strategic counter attack and smaller-scale enveloping operations were executed to force the Hathorian armies back to the positions around the border provinces of Lireo, nearly surrounding and annihilating three Hathorian armies in the process.

The war totally exhausted Sapiro's Manpower and resources and with the death of their king, Armeo ,the kingdom of Sapiro gradually went into ruins with many of its population migrating to Lireo,with no heir to take the Sapirian crown,the throne would lay vacant for two thousand years until Prince Ybrahim returns and claim the crown
Lireo becomes a Super Power
With the defeat of Hathoria and the rapid weakening of Sapiro and Adamya being reduced to being an autonomous subject, Lireo was the sole kingdom still standing strong and relatively unscathed ,and with the four gems under her protection Lireo became very powerful, she was able to force the Hatorians to pay indemnity for the destruction they have caused during the war, this was considered the Golden Age of Lireo,Hathoria won't challenge her unbridled supremacy for another two thousand years, during this age peace reigned unbroken thru out Encantadia under Mine-a. But the threat of Hagorn upon Amihan forced the Queen to sent her daughter on the Human world for safekeeping.
