Life and career
Originally born in China, Lindy Chen grew up in a normal family in Guiyang, China. When Lindy was young, she had two objectives: setting up her own business, and doing business related to China. After she graduated from Tianjin University, she worked for two companies in China and made notable contributions. These work experience played an important role when Lindy set up her own business in Australia in 2005.
Lindy Chen went to Australia as an international student in 2002. She found it very difficult to survive in this new environment because of diversity of culture and language. She sold movie tickets door-to-door, having a considerably low income. At the same time, Lindy put great effort on improving her English and learning local customs.
In 2005, she found an opportunity to start her own business, Chinadirect sourcing. As an entrepreneur, she helped a range of Australian local companies building their careers through importing from China. Up to 2011, she helped her clients saved over 5 million dollars in terms of manufacturing and importing costs. According to the local television show, How to Get That Job,she talked about her ambition: leading her team and becoming one of the best sourcing company around the world.

Despite being a successful business woman, Lindy is committed to philanthropy. By fundraising over 100,000 Australian dollars, Lindy Chen made a great effort to help the people in China who were suffering after the earthquake in 2008.
