Lilius is an old Finnish family who first appeared in records in the 16th century. The earliest documented members were the Sheriff Hans Rainenius (b. 1540), who lived in Satakunta, and his son Vicar Henrik Rainenius-Lilius (1590–1657). Notable Finns with this surname include:
