The Lexington County Blowfish are an amateur baseball team in the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer baseball league. The team plays its home games at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium in Lexington County, South Carolina. The Blowfish first started competing in the Coastal Plain League during the 2006 season and finished with a twenty-two win and thirty loss record in their first season. During their first year in existence, the Blowfish led the league in attendance by drawing over 46,000 fans to "The Cap."

Lexington County Blowfish The State

The team's first head coach, Tim Medlin, was fired during the 2009 season and replaced by former major leaguer Lee Gronkiewicz, a University of South Carolina alumnus. Gronkiewicz stepped down after the 2011 season and was replaced by former Texas Rangers first-rounder Jonathan Johnson.

The Blowfish replaced the Capital City Bombers when professional baseball left Columbia after the 2004 season. The Blowfish moved from Columbia to Lexington County in 2014.
