Lewcott Corporation, founded in 1965, is a specialty chemical and materials technology company whose product lines include applications for Indy race cars, rocket engine nozzles, military helmets and other end uses. Lewcott designs and produces pre-preg and resin matrices for specific and advanced solutions.

Lewcott has a 20 million pound manufacturing capability with instrumented reactors to develop, manufacture, coat, and market a wide variety of thermoset and thermoplastic resins and systems. These specialized resins include Liquid phenolic, epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester.

Applications

Several end-product applications include:

Filtration – These specialty products are built to protect against chemical/biological warfare agents and technologies for Aerospace filtration systems.

Electronics - Electronic applications involve the use of the entire gamut of Lewcott pre-preg systems in ground, vehicle, sea and air based radomes, power generation equipment and other electrical products.

Ablatives - Ablative materials are defined as polymer or resin with low thermal conductivity which pyrolize layer by layer when its surface is heated, leaving a heat-resisting layer of charred material which eventually breaks away to expose virgin material. Lewcott missile cone ablative materials are available in broad goods, molding compound, biased tapes and straight tapes. Many of their ablative and carbon/carbon materials exceed the requirements for the aerospace industry.

Protective Systems - Lewcott was the pioneer in developing and manufacturing armor composite pre-preg materials. They remain a primary source of armor pre-preg for U.S. military programs for combat & fire helmets, rigid body armor, flight and vehicle armor.

Transportation – The transportation sector uses their phenolic pre-pregs in aircraft interior constructions as well as rail and ship applications.

Composite Materials – This distinctive market covers a wide range of uses within the industrial and recreational sectors. Fishing rods, kayak paddle shafts and various industrial components are manufactured using Lewcott Corporation’s broad base of resin system technology and process techniques.

Automotive – This market segment is known for the use of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer. Lewcott offers a variety of carbon-epoxy pre-pregs and tooling components. Lewcott Corporation is located in Millbury, Massachusetts.
