Leo P. Ribuffo is an American historian and Society of the Cincinnati George Washington Distinguished Professor at George Washington University. He has received grants from the American Council of Learned Societies and the National Endowment for the Humanities, served as visiting professor at Fudan University in China, and held the Organization of American Historians-American Studies Association residency in Japan. He was academic adviser to "The World of F. Scott Fitzgerald" (NPR), "With God on Our Side" (PBS-TV), and the documentary film "The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg." Ribuffo was also a specialist abroad for the United States Information Agency (USIA) in Nigeria and the Republic of Korea.

Life
Born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1945, Ribuffo graduated from Rutgers University in 1966 with a B A. in history and from Yale University in 1976 with a Ph.D. in American Studies. He taught at Yale University (1970–1972) and Bucknell University (1972–1973) before moving to George Washington University in 1973.
