Leicester City Women Football Club is the official English women's football club affiliated with Leicester City F.C.. The club is distinct from Leicester City Ladies Football Club who are a stand-alone grassroots club whereas Leicester City W.F.C are supported by the Leicester City Men's team.

Leicester City Women also run a Reserves and Development sides and have newly opened the Leicester City Women Development Centre for the 2016/17 season. The development centre caters for under 9’s, 11’s, 13’s and 16’s.

History

Leicester City WFC applied to join the FA Women's Super League in December 2009.

But in March 2010 they were announced as a losing bidder for the inaugural 2011 season.

The playing colours of Leicester City Women FC are identical to those of parent club Leicester City F.C.
