LegalBeagles is an organisation that offers a forum-based website for consumers to share experiences and assist one another in dealing with various consumer and financial issues.

History

LegalBeagles is an independent consumer rights and consumer law forum. It has offered support, informal advice and resources to its guest visitors, registered users and VIP subscribers since May 2007.

The forum started as a help site for consumers wishing to reclaim bank charges just prior to the start of the Office of Fair Trading v Abbey National plc and Others (2009) and continue to campaign for fairness in consumer contracts.

In August 2014 LegalBeagles were involved in obtaining a County Court judgment against Lloyds Bank Plc for unfair terms. and in October 2014 they were involved in The Court of Appeal ruling that banks cannot impose a default on a person's credit file if the credit agreement in question has already been judged unenforceable Grace & Anor v Blackhorse

The forum assists consumers to defend County Court Claims as Litigants in Person in financial and contractual issues. In 2015 LegalBeagles helped a number of consumers defend cases bought by a third party passport website and campaigns against copycat and misleading websites. LegalBeagles also campaign for action on online scams.

It has over 80,000 registered members, attracts over 2.5 million visitors per year and over 6 million page views. The site provides guidance for response letters and spreadsheets for the use of consumers.

The forum also enables support in Employment and Family Law issues.
