Lauren Ashley Zakrin is an American musical theatre actress. She was a finalist on MTV's Legally Blonde: The Musical – The Search for Elle Woods, coming in fourth place overall. She has appeared on Broadway, in US National Tours and regional theatre. On Broadway, she has performed the roles of Sherrie in Rock of Ages and as an understudy for the character Natasha in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812.

Life and career

Zakrin was born in Rochester Hills, Michigan and earned a bachelor's degree in theatre performance at Western Michigan University. She was first known as a finalist on MTV's 2008 reality TV show Legally Blonde: The Musical – The Search for Elle Woods. She then understudied the role of Elle Woods on the first US tour of the musical Legally Blonde, and covered the role, together with Laura Bell Bundy, while Becky Gulsvig was unable to perform. In 2009, she was a replacement in the leading role of Sandy in on the US tour of Grease. She then spent a year in the ensemble and as the understudy for Glinda on the first national tour of Wicked. During the summer of 2011 Zakrin performed as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical at The Muny Theater in St. Louis Missouri. She next starred as Brooke in the Las Vegas production of the 2012 Beach Boys musical Surf at Planet Hollywood, directed by Kristin Hanggi.

After appearing Off-Broadway in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, understudying the roles of Natasha and Sonya, she made her Broadway debut in 2014 in Rock of Ages as a replacement in the leading role of Sherrie Christian. In the fall of 2016, she joined the original Broadway cast of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, understudying Natasha. Zakrin also appears regularly on the YouTube sketch comedy series "The Kloons."
