A student of Dublin City University, Laura graduated in 2012 with a degree in PE & Biology. Having shown an aptitude for research, she began a PhD. Turning her attention to platelet biology, Laura began many assays using the precious blood of her colleagues. During the summer of 2013, Laura embarked on a data collection program in the Science Gallery, Trinity College, Dublin. The exhibition was entitled “Fat Lab”. To promote this event, Laura made a number of media appearances, including “Morning Ireland”, “RTE News” and “Midday (TV3)”, rivaling Niall Moyna for the title of "DCU superstar supreme". On each occasion, Laura informed viewers/listeners about “sticky” platelets. Laura has served as postgraduate representative for the School of Health & Human Performance, and with the assistance of David Gaul, organised the School Ball for that year.
