According to Baloch traditions, their ancestors came from Halab, Syria. They are descendants of Hazrat Ameer Hamza, uncle of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), who settled in Halab (present-day Aleppo), after the fight against second Ummayad Caliph Yazid 1 at Karbala in 680, angered descendants of Hazart Ameer Hamza wander way to east or southeast of the central Caspian region, specially toward Sistan, Iran. Mir Jalal khan was the ruler and founder of the first Balochi confederacy in 12th century. Mir Jalal Khan left four sons Mir Rind Khan, Mir Lashar Khan, Mir Hoth Khan, Mir Kora Khan and daughter Bibi Jato, who married his nephew Murad. These five are the founders of the five great divisions of the Baloch tribes, The Rind, Lashari, Hoth, Korai and Jatoi. The Rind had been appointed Royal by his father.

Lanjwani History

Lanjo Khan, Rind, Baloch was the name of their great ancestor, after whom they are now called Lanjwani (Please add references: Mir Lanjo son of Babu Khan, son of Khetran son of Rao sen son of Raees Khan son of Ali KhanRasssani, who was governor of Sarwan, Balochistan). Mir Lanjo Khan left five sons 1) Rais, 2) Kalo, 3) Yar Mohammed, 4) Yousif and 5 Karim Ali. Their descendants now adopted the names Raisani, Kalozi, Yarozai, Yousifzai and Karamzai Lanjwani.

The Lanjwani (Langwani) along with 2) Mir-Jat, 3) Babar, 4) Lishari, 5) Borana, 6) Wasuwana, 7) Pahore, 8) Daidana 9) Babrani were Camel drivers and soldiers of Mir Chakar Khan Rind. Mir Chakkar Khan Rind, great Baloch king head of Rind tribe, was hero of their folk songs, he lived about 1450-1550 A.D and died when 96 years old.

The Lanjwani were supporters of Mir Chakar Khan Rind during the civil war between the Lashari and Rind tribes of Balochistan. Mir Chakar and Mir Gwaharam Khan Lashari, head of the Lashari tribe, went to war. The reason was a Jat girl by name of Mai - Gohar. Under the protecting of Mir Chakar, she was grazing her camels when some Lashari ran way with her female camels. This was reason enough for Mir Chakkar to fight, and the ensuing war between the Rind and the Lashari lasted for thirty years and resulted in thousands dead, including Mir Gwaharam Khan s brother and many Lanjwani peoples. It resulted in the final defeat of Mir Chakkar at hands of Afghans, who brought into play by Mir Chakkar himself. This led to the establishment of Afghan rule over Sibi as well as over Sindh. Many Lanjwani peoples left Balochistan with Mir Chakar Khan Rind and settled in the Punjab region in 1518. Many Lanjwani people joined the Mir Chakkar Khan Rind Army under the command of his son Mir Shahdad Khan to help Mughal King Humayun. With the help of Mir Chakkar s army Emperor Humayun came back from Persia in 1555 and recaptured Delhi, and ousted the Suri dynasty in 1556.

The Lanjwani people were well settled at Lanjo area of Sui, Dera Bugati, Balochistan, where they had huge area of land still called Lano Pat.
