History

Langford Football Club was formed in 1908. In the early years, they competed in the Biggleswade & District Junior League. After the First World War, the club joined the Bedford & District League, which they won in the 1931/1932 and 1949/1950 campaigns. In 1951, Langford were granted a place in Division One of the South Midlands League. The Reds remained in the division for eighteen years, prior to winning promotion to the Premier Division in the 1968/1969 season. However, their status as a South Midlands League Premier Division club lasted two seasons, following their relegation in 1971.

The Reds then spent fourteen seasons alternating between the two divisions, returning to the Premier Division in 1985. Four years later, they won the South Midlands League, which still remains as their highest ever league finish. In the 1995/1996 season, Langford reached the FA Vase Second Round, defeating London Colney and Hoddesdon Town respectively, before losing to Whitstable Town. In the same season, the club reached the FA Cup First Round Qualifying (which they also achieved in the 1993/1994 campaign).

Ahead of the 1997/1998 season, the club were placed in the Premier Division North of the newly-formed Spartan South Midlands League, which was created as a result of the Spartan League and South Midlands League merging. When the league reorganised, they were then placed in the Senior Division, which was subsequently renamed as 'Division One' in 2001. The Reds went on to gain promotion to the Premier Division in the 2003/2004 campaign, finishing as runners-up. The club remained in the division for seven years, before their relegation back to Division One in 2011.
