Lampua or Lampuwa is a village in tehsil Shri Madhopur of Sikar district in Rajasthan, India. It is situated 8 km west of Ringas, on the Ringas-Khatu Road.

The main occupation of people is agriculture and animal husbandry. The village is well developed and irrigated. It is fully developed with all modern facilities. For providing education it has one government secondary school, two private secondary schools, one government middle school, two private middle schools, and six primary schools.

History

The village was founded by Dhetarwal Jats about 350 years back. Later Bajiya Jats came from Lakhani and settled here. During the fight Mana Bajiya became a martyr whose statue is still there in the village Lakhani. A fair is organized on first tithi of each Hindu month to commemorate the martyr.

It was a khalsa village under direct control of Jaipur state. The Bajiya Jats of this village had gathered at Khandela and opposed the Jagirdari system due to which the Shekhawat Jagirdar hacked Lala Bajiya by sword. Bhura Bajiya had taken lead of this movement who was also killed. The Jaipur state established a statue and Chhatri of Lala Bajiya at Khandela. The villagers themselves established statue and Chhatri of Bhura Bajiya at Khandela.

Demography

The population of the village is about 550 families. Out of those families, Bajiya is the only Jat gotras with population of 450 families. Other castes dwelling in the village (with number of families) are Harijan (50), Meenas (30), Nai (20), Bawriya (2), Brahman (1), Bania (1).

  • Subedar Bhiwa Ram Bajiya - posthumous recipient of the Shaurya Chakra for his acts of bravery during the Pakistan war in 1965.
