Lake Kossou (French: Lac de Kossou) is the largest lake in Côte d'Ivoire. It lies in the center of the country on the Bandama River. It is an artificial lake, created in 1973 by damming the Bandama River at Kossou (the Kossou Dam). Some 85,000 Baoulé people were displaced by the lake.
