Lajos Evva (17 August 1851, Kétfegyvernek, Kingdom of Hungary (now modern-day Zbrojníky, Slovakia) – 2 October 1912, Budapest) was a Hungarian theater director, writer, and translator.

Life
In Budapest in 1870, Evva earned his teaching diploma. From 1871 onwards, he worked at the Hungarian National Museum in their Library and published professional articles. By 1875, he collaborated with the Népszínház, and from 1881 to 1897, was its director. He started to work with actresses such as Lujza Blaha, Aranka Hegyi, Ilka Pálmay, and Klára Küry, and had great successes with fellow actors such as Vidor Kassai and Imre Szirmai. In 1896, Evva organized the Hungarian Theatre Company, which was the first president until 1898 and then again in 1906. In 1897, he was a founding member of the Magyar Theatre. He originally presented 66 works of original people of color. In addition, he made two novels, many plays, music history articles, and wrote criticisms of theatres. His wife was Ida Rákosi, a relative of writer Jenő Rákosi, actress Szidi Rákosi, and doctor Béla Rákosi.
