Lajos Dorkota (born July 19, 1958) is a Hungarian politician, member of the National Assembly (MP) for Dunaújváros (Fejér County Constituency III) from 2010 to 2013. He also served as MP from Fejér County Regional List between 1998 and 2010.

He was a member of the Constitutional, Judicial and Standing Orders Committee from May 14, 2010 to February 14, 2011. He was a director of a government office from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013.

Dorkota was appointed President of the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority on July 1, 2013, as a result he resigned from his parliamentary seat. Due to a change in the law no one was appointed to replace him as MP, explaining with the upcoming national election.
