La Fan, is an American telenovela produced by Telemundo, it's an original story written by Marcela Citterio and inspired by an original idea of Angélica Vale.

This telenovela (at least through episode 34) is actually two separate stories with two sets of protagonists -- the two stories having little to do with each other thus far. The title story revolves around the life of a famous telenovelas actor and his faithful follower who is his number one fan. The second story is a cinderfellow story about a female president of a company and a mechanic/maintenance man who works at that company.
The protagonists of the second story are Ximena Duque as Adriana (company president) and Jonathan Islas as Diego (the poor mechanic). The Title story has for protagonists Angélica Vale as Valentina and Juan Pablo Espinosa as Lucas -- with Scarlet Ortiz as Salma the "evil novia" antagonist.
On January 12, 2017, the first chapter of the telenovela was published with a duration of 20 minutes as a special before the premiere.
Plot summary
La Fan has for the title story, the story of a comic, cheerful and humble woman who is a fan of a famous soap opera actor and by a twist of fate, she will come unexpectedly into his life and, although at first he did not pay much attention, at the end he can not imagine living life without her. Now both must face the many obstacles between each other, like, Lucas' manager, Gabriel, who is secretly trying to ruin his career, for taking away a girlfriend he had and Salma, Lucas' co-star/ on and off-again girlfriend, is extremely possesive of Lucas, despite being broken up. When Vale became part of Lucas's life, she constantly tries everything to keep Vale away from Lucas. However, another secret being revealed that will make them both drift apart more, is that Lucas once dated a deceased friend of Vale's, Luciana, before she met him. Luciana, also turns out to be Gabriel's former flame, who left her after, he found out she had a brief affair with Lucas. Luciana appears as a ghost from time to time interfering with the romance between Lucas and Vale, making Vale believe that Luciana is actually prevent their relationship from happening to the public, so she won't end up with the same fate Luciana ended up with in the past. After Gabriel left Luciana, she turned out to be pregnant, but died after giving birth to a son and left him under Vale's care. Another reason why Gabriel is trying to ruin Lucas, is so he can keep Lucas away from Vale, so he can remain close with her and Luciana's son, who is confirmed to be also Gabriel's through a DNA test.
The second story involves a romance between a working class citizen/ maintenece man, Diego and high-class/ VP Adriana, who both meet each other through their own clumsy accident. But ends up being opposed by Adriana's father and his wife, Adriana's exceedingly careless and self-centered mother, whose favorite stunt seems to seduce with Adriana's boyfriends whenever possible, thus ruining Adriana's chance of love and romances. Also, the romance has opposition from a high class executive in the company, Benicio, who wants Adriana for himself, being motivated by the prospect of becoming CEO of the company himself. Diego rejects the advances of Adriana's mother, but Adriana believes that her mother's lies helped Diego serve her for money. To complicate matters, it turns out that Adriana's father and Diego's mother have a long-standing romance themselves. But when Adriana's father finally decicdes to divorce his wife, Adriana opposes the idea of Diego's mother moving in with her and her father.

The production of the telenovela was officially confirmed on July 5, 2016,and the production concluded on December 22, 2016.The production is mainly recorded in Miami, the first scenes were made in Los Angeles. A total of 120 episodes have been confirmed.Vale explained that the idea arose as she wanted to pay homage to all her fans and followers of the telenovela La fea más bella.
The series is an original idea written by Angélica Vale in 2009, which has a promotional video uploaded to Youtube that same year.The story is adapted by Marcela Citterio based on the idea of Angélica,is directed by Miguel Varoni, Claudio Callao and Otto Rodríguez and as executive producers Carmen Cecilia Urbaneja, José Gerardo Guillén and David Posada and as general producer Angélica Vale.Vale said that the series will have a bit of sitcom format.
Promotion
The first advance of the telenovela was presenting during the event broadcast by Telemundo entitled, La Fiesta Latina de iHeart Radio.The telenovela was presented in Natpe the same day they finished the production.
Casting
In May of 2016 Angélica Vale confirmed her return to the telenovelas, after being 10 years away from the dramatic genre.On August 3, 2016, Vale confirmed the participation of Juan Pablo Espinosa as the protagonist of the title story.Scarlet Ortiz was chosen as the main villain of the title story, and marks the debut of the actress in the network Telemundo (discounting the fact that Ortiz had a sort of cameo role in Betty la Fea, which aired years ago on Telemundo).Miguel Varoni who besides being the director of the telenovela, his character Justin Case will have the same role of Varoni in the production of the telenovela as it will be a character who works as director, also confirmed the participation of Catherine Siachoque in the production.Espinosa confirmed through his Instagram the participation of Adamari López in the telenovela, the actress and presenter who was 8 years away from the telenovelas.
