LPU NEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test) is a common entrance test conducted every year throughout India for admissions in different engineering courses and management programs at the Lovely Professional University. Better scores in LPU NEST also result in receiving scholarships at the university. LPU NEST is considered to 5th Largest Entrance Examination in India after Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) & Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) - Andhra Pradesh, GATE.

Test pattern

LPU Nest consists of 3 phases and applicants are required to qualify each phase.

Phase 1: LPU NEST is a theoretical exam comprising 120 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology streams and 20 questions from English. As per their academic experience, students are required to opt for any three subject combinations wherein Physics and Chemistry are mandatory, i.e. PCM or PCB. The time duration to solve this question paper is 90 minutes.

Phase 2: This phase of LPU NEST has two categories: 1) Group Discussion (GD) and 2) Personal Interaction Round. Only those students who qualify Phase 1 can appear in GD wherein they are given random topics to debate on them. Students selected in the GD round are then asked to appear for the Personal Interaction Round.

Phase 3: In this phase, seats are allotted to the students who qualify all the rounds on the basis of their average ranking from both Phase 1 and Phase 2.
