History

Donna Loughlin Michaels, agency President, is known in the PR industry and recognized for her prior success in raising many notable startups to success. She received a Bachelor's degree in marketing and advertising from San Jose State University and studied journalism at University of California, Berkeley. She began her career as a news reporter and editor, followed by positions with PR firms Burson-Marsteller and Edelman Public Relations. These led to 17 more years of leading communications programs for technology firms. Following the failure of one of these firms, she decided to start her own, and founded LMGPR in 2002.

Among others, she helped improve the visibility of FireEye, Inc., Divergent 3D, Bastille Networks, Skully Helmets, Telebit, Concentric, NetManage, Exodus Communications, and NetScaler. LMGPR has also introduced several startups that have been acquired by notable companies, including Filtrbox (Jive Software), Nokenna (Juniper Networks), VivuTV (Polycom), and Rhomobilie (Motorola). In 2009, Loughlin Michaels received a Stevie Award for PR Leader of the Year for small agencies and was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Business by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Loughlin Michaels has sat on the board for the Public Relations Society of America's practice committee and is a member of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives. She has started developing Neon Scoop, an agency focused on consumer, music and entertainment PR.
