Dr. L V Muralikrishna Reddy, FIE, FWAPS, PE, IntPE, CEng (UK) (born 23 June 1967) has been the youngest President of India's oldest professional body of Engineers, The Institution of Engineers (India). with multi-dimensional professional activities including consulting, technology research and development, and engineering. He is a prolific author and writes frequently on engineering and technology subjects.

An innovator and a visionary, Dr. Reddy over the last 25 years has transitioned from a successful Educator to a renowned Technology-Entrepreneur, with proven accomplishments as an Administrator. He has delivered results consistently in globally-acclaimed Technology Leadership roles. He is a Certified Chartered Chemical Engineer(CEng) in India and UK; and a Licentiate International Professional Engineer (IntPE and PE), providing consultancy services and practicing engineering in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Allied Industries.
A keen interdisciplinary practitioner, he is recognized in the industry circles as a proponent of the concept of ‘Circular Economy’ with emphasis on the design optimization for a cycle of disassembly and reuse. He has led research and operations teams to recommend and implement strategic technological interventions in the contemporary domains of ICT; new and advanced materials; renewable and alternative energy with the objective of enhancing business sustainability, productivity and growth.
He is an alumnus of the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the top private engineering colleges in India. He has acquired the Master's Degree in Engineering from the noted Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, and a Doctorate from the Bangalore University (UVCE). He pursued the Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Kentucky, USA.
He is the Founder Chairman, Indian Technology Congress, an annual flagship event for technology promotion, networking and collaboration, and continues to promote the growth of the engineering profession globally as President, World Academy of Engineers; and President, BRICS Federation of Engineering Organisations.
He is Practicing Charted Chemical Engineer providing Consultancy Services to Large Corporates and Businesses internationally. He is Chartered Engineer through The Institution of Engineers (India) and Engineering Council UK. He has the singular distinction of attaining multiple credentials recognizing highest professional engineering achievements-International Professional Engineers (IntPE) and Chartered Engineer (CEng,UK).
Leadership in Industry
Dr. Reddy is Member of the Independent Evaluation Committee (IEC) constituted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and hosted by the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) to carry out Techno-Economic Viability (TEV) assessment of Corporate Debt Restructuring (CDR) packages of accounts with aggregate exposure exceeding INR 500 Crores; and has evaluated CDR proposals of more than 50+ Corporates in Steel, Cement, Food, Infrastructure, Power & Energy, Ports & Shipping sectors, amongst others.
Dr. Reddy's contribution to engineering and technology-led industrial development has been recognized through his empanelment in the Databank of Independent Directors maintained by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises, Government of India.
Entrepreneurship
A hands-on technologist, he has founded and scaled-up Institutions and Industry including FARE, FEE, Team Tech Foundation, DIAS, EDAF, VidTeq, and Innovative Technology Transfer to cater to the needs of engineering professionals to network, collaborate with industry-institute-R&D Labs and policy makers.
Co-Founded / Promoted organizations for productization and commercialization of technologies with multifarious societal applications. Some of these have grown to the status of mature organizations with addition of new product lines, and increasing efficiency leading to substantial branding and good-will amongst the clients. Associated with organizations in the following domains:
o Enti INNOVATIONS for offering services in engineering design, and design and prototyping of composites
o Legend Technologies for design and fabrication of aerospace assembly jigs, aero structures and high precision slip rings
Leadership through Professional Societies
Dr. Reddy occupied the prestigious and highest position in technology leadership as National President of The Institution of Engineers (India) for the session 2014-2015, providing leadership to India's largest multidisciplinary professional body Engineers, having membership of over one Million. He brought laurels to the Indian engineering profession and helped it attain credibility and recognition in the international arena by strengthening bilateral relations through technology collaborations in contemporary areas including smart cities, blue economy, advanced manufacturing and sustainable development. He has been invited to mentor students and share his advice to graduands at numerous Graduation Day Ceremonies organized by Engineering Institutions.. He led the initiative by IEI to reach out to the engineering fraternity across the country by creating 'Points of Connect' through IEI State and Local Centres.
He is a recipient of international awards and honors including election as Fellow, World Academy of Productivity Science by World Confederation of Productivity Science (India); and IEEE Eta Kappa Nu IEEE-HKN), that recognizes individual excellence in education and meritorious work in professional practice at the Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. He has the singular distinction of attaining multiple credentials recognizing highest professional engineering achievements-IntPE and CEng (UK).
He has been instrumental in building synergy between IEI and IEEE to institute the IEI-IEEE Joint Award for Engineering Excellence. The IEI-IEEE Award for Engineering Excellence has been successful in giving global recognition to engineering excellence in the country through Awards being given to Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Adviser to Raksha Mantri, Government of India; and Dr. M Annadurai, Director ISRO Satellite Centre. He was a member of Bangalore Section ExCom of IEEE. As Chair-IEEE R10 (Asia-Pacific) Committee for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Internship, Dr. Reddy has been promoting initiatives to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at a global level.
Dr Murali had earlier served as the Director of NDRF, a Research Promotion Organisation. His leadership tenure has seen NDRF build a high-performance collaborative R&D ecosystem with its Consortium partners to develop indigenous capabilities in Micro Air Vehicles, Rapid Prototyping, and Chemical and Bio-Sensor Systems. As the Principal Investigator of several projects, he has caused NDRF to receive research grants and funding from DST, AR&DB, DRDO, ICMR, ISRO, AICTE, IUSSTF, and ADB to pursue research and development; and consultancy. He has spearheaded NDRF's foray into biomedical devices development, and has achieved a major milestone with the non-invasive glucometer using NIR Spectrometry progressing to Product Development after successful Technology Demonstration. He has been instrumental in building global partnerships with best-in-class Universities and industries, successfully managing large, collaborative research programs, and leading technology transfer and productization initiatives.
He has promoted networking in the technological community by establishing synergy with other professional bodies to strengthen the cause of Indian engineering. One of the recent initiatives is the signing of a MoU between IEI and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) to promote accreditation activities for technical education, R&D in technical education, development of monographs, development of curriculum and delivery of training programmes for engineers and engineering teachers, amongst others.
Dr. Reddy took the lead role as Chairman, Organizing Committee to conceptualize and organize the Indian Engineering Congress-2011 at Bangalore in December 2011; this event was recognized as the transformation point of IEC as a major collaboration and networking platform for Indian Engineers.
