Lüchow-Dannenberg – Lüneburg is one of the 299 single member constituencies (German: Wahlkreis) used for the German parliament, the Bundestag. One of thirty constituencies in the state of Lower Saxony, it contains the counties of Lüneburg and Lüchow-Dannenberg. The constituency elects one representative under the mixed member proportional representation (MMP) system. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 37.

Contents

The constituency has existed under different names since the 1949 election, the first election in West Germany after World War II. It has been held by both major German parties, the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) since then. At the 2013 election, CDU candidate Eckhard Pols was re-elected to a second term.
