Kyle Abbott is American shamisen player committed to promote the instrument to English-speaking players. Author and self-publisher of the book Shamisen of Japan, a comprehensive manual to teach how to build and play the Tsugaru shamisen. Founder of Bachido website (named after the bachi, special plectrum used to strike the strings) that includes video lessons, e-shop, discussion forum and information about workshop camp ShamiCamp.
Abbott recorded in and produced two Monsters of Shamisen albums, Stellar (2013) and Resonance (2014), and also recorded and produced his own solo album, The Cuckoo (2014).
