Kuthukalvalasai is a village (Gram panchayat) in the Tenkasi Taluk in the Tirunelveli district, State of Tamil Nadu. It is at the foot of Western Ghats and Courtallam hills. It is located 61 km towards west from District headquarters Tirunelveli. 1 km from Tenkasi. 652 km from State capital Chennai. This rural area is far 1 kilometre from Tenkasi, 6 kilometres from Courtallam and 9 kilometres from ThirumalaiTemple (Hills Temple). Its postal head office is Elathur (Tirunelveli).

History

  • The village got the name Kuthukal because of the historical Ramar Temple, which is located nearby. Earlier, the village had large areas of agricultural land and factories, and was surrounded by windmills. Recently, much of the land has been converted to residential plots.
