Company overview

Kubity was founded in 2012 and launched its first prototype in September 2013 with a plugin that allowed users to import 3D models from SketchUp to their browser.

In May 2015, Kubity launched a web application that worked using WebGL technology. For the first time, users were able to drag and drop any SketchUp file in a web browser without having to install a plug-in.

The mobile application was launched in December 2015 on the App Store for iPhone, iPod, and iPad as well as on Google Play for Android devices.

As of November 2016, the qrVR application functions as a conversation network that broadcasts 3D models. Paid applications, qrSkope and VRSkope were launched in November 2016.

Technology

qrVR

qrVR is a cloud-based conversation network that requires no identification to collect and cast 3D models. People can now untether from their desks and communicate a 3D story from anywhere, on any device with complete ease.

qrSkope

qrSkope is a drag-and-drop desktop application for Windows and Mac that allows users to convert their .skp file for broadcast on the qrVR network. Users can decide the duration of their broadcast, and assign additional security with a password. Models on the qrVR network are synchronized between mobile devices and computers enabling the users to see those 3D models in Virtual Reality using a Google Cardboard and also share these files to social networks. It is compatible with .skp formats which are created with 3D modeling software SketchUp.

rvt2skp

Kubity has also developed a plugin for Revit users called rvt2skp that allows them to convert .rvt files to .skp files.

VRSkope

VRSkope is a Windows-only application that allows users to experience a 3D model in virtual reality using premium virtual reality headsets such as the Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.

Platform support

On iOS, Kubity applications are compatible with devices running on the version 9.0 or higher. On Android, Kubity applications are compatible with devices running on the version 4.4 “Kit Kat” or higher.

The web version of Kubity applications currently support web browsers compatible with WebGL: Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
