Kota Yabu(薮 宏太,Yabu, Kota, born 31 January 1990) is a Japanese idol as well as a member and leader of Hey! Say! JUMP. He is under the management of Johnny & Associates. He was born in Tokyo, and attends Waseda University, studying human science.
On September 23, 2001, he entered Johnny & Associates as a trainee. Kei Inoo, a member of Hey! Say! JUMP, was also there during that time. From the time he joined the agency (2001) to the year 2004, he had the most high pitched voice in the history of Johnny's Entertainment, which eventually led him up to become the leader of Johnny's Jr. Two months later, he was chosen to be the leader of Ya-Ya-yah. They released a CD which was very unusual because they were still members of Johnny's Jr.
On September 21, 2007, he began performing as a member of Hey! Say! JUMP. He is the oldest member of the group.
