Kostyantyn Kostyantynovych Leontovich (born October 13, 1985), better known as Kostya Leontovich, is a Ukrainian guitarist, singer/songwriter, composer, founder of the alternative rock band PICK-UP and performs as a solo artist, independently releasing his music. He also is a founder of MusicBall rock school.

Personal life

Kostya Leontovich was born and raised in Kiev, the son of Marianna and Kostyantin Leontovich. He has one older sister, Alexandra, and one younger brother, David. His father, Kostyantyn Pavlovych Leontovich was skilled at singing and playing guitar. Kostya received his first musical lessons from him. His mother, Marianna Olegovna Leontovich is also a singer and a music teacher. As a child Kostya, tried almost all kinds of arts and activities - dances, singing in choir, piano, acrobatics, basketball, and even the circus arts. But from the age of 15 years decided to become a musician.
Kostya Leontovich married Anna Leontovich in 2012, and the couple had a son in 2015.

Career

Leontovich began studying music since childhood. Ever since the days when he went to a kindergarten his mother noticed his ability. When he was only 6 years old, he voiced the film "The Golden Chicken". The film was voiced in English language for displaying abroad. He studied music at Kyiv Art School Number 2 and at the age of 9 years Kostya went on his first musical tour in France where he sang Ukrainian folk songs. Also Kostya performed at the various venues, including the Kyiv National Conservatory and the October Palace. From the age of 11 he became interested in basketball and therefore began to pay less time of musical activity. But when he was 14 Kostya started to learn playing guitar and even decided to create his own band. His first group was called L.I.F.T.4 and they played a punk-rock music and even got some gigs. His first band existed for about a year and after that Leontovich was playing for several years at the University musical band.

In 2005 Kostya Leontovich founded a rock band which he called PICK-UP. Since 2010, he also decided to engage in a solo project. His first single Heavenly Atmosphere appeared on the Ukrainian radio and on sale worldwide in May 2010.

2011 Against the Flow - EP

His second single "We Praise" was released on June 22, 2011 and was also included on EP titled "Against The Flow" featuring the songs "Against The Flow", "Come Along", "If You Can" and "Your Love". Leontovich recorded his album independently, playing almost all instruments. Kostya also acted as a sound producer for this release. In 2015 the album was re-released and EP included 6 additional bonus tracks.

2013 MusicBall Rock School

Kostya started teaching guitar lessons during his school years and a lot of experience, number of students, as well as personal methods led him to the idea of creating an educational institution in which besides ordinary guitar lessons, the student will be able to play in a band, perform at the rock shows and recording songs in the studio. Thus in 2013 Leontovich founded MusicBall Rock School.
